Porter Center for Knowledge (PCFK) began with a single student struggling to function in formal school and one devoted educator — Mrs. Barbara Kerr-Thompson — determined to help him. For a year, she homeschooled her friend’s son each evening while balancing her full-time teaching job. Witnessing his transformation, a seed of inspiration took root, igniting her passion for individualized education. She envisioned a school where academic excellence, spiritual growth and holistic development thrived together. With unwavering faith and determination, she set out to create PCFK— a Christian preparatory school committed to nurturing every child’s potential.
